Frequently Asked Questions
Are there other camp locations?
This year, S.W.O.L.E.™ Summer Camp will be offered in Brampton and Winnipeg.
We understand that families in other communities may also be interested, and we appreciate your support as we continue working to expand our programs in the future.
What happens after I register my child for camp?
After completing your child’s registration, you will receive a confirmation email and payment receipt for your records. This confirms that your child’s spot for the selected week has been secured.
Closer to the start of camp, parents will also receive a detailed information package that includes important details such as camp location information, drop-off and pick-up instructions, what to bring to camp, and any required forms.
If you do not receive your confirmation email within a few minutes of registering, please check your spam folder or contact our team for assistance.
Can I register more than one child?
Yes. Parents can register multiple children during the registration process by increasing the quantity for the selected camp week.
Can my child register for more than one week of camp?
Yes. Your child is welcome to attend multiple weeks of S.W.O.L.E.™ Summer Camp, as long as spots are available.
Each week has limited capacity, so if you are considering registering for more than one week, we recommend securing those spots during registration rather than waiting, as some weeks may fill up quickly.
Is it worth signing up multiple weeks?
Yes. While the core S.W.O.L.E.™ leadership curriculum remains consistent, each week offers different experiences for campers.
We rotate trips, guest speakers, team activities, and challenges, so campers who attend multiple weeks will continue to experience new activities, build stronger friendships, and deepen their leadership skills.
Many families choose multiple weeks so their children can continue growing in confidence and connection throughout the summer.
Is early drop-off or late pick-up available?
Yes. We expect to offer options for early drop-off and later pick-up for families who need additional flexibility. Final details and availability will be shared closer to the start of camp.
If you need this information sooner or require special accommodations for your schedule, please reach out to our team at info@onevoiceoneteam.org and we will be happy to assist.
What should my child bring to camp each day?
Parents will receive a detailed camp information package before the program begins. Generally, campers should bring:
• A reusable water bottle
• Nut-free lunch and snacks
• Comfortable clothing for physical activity
• Sunscreen and weather-appropriate items
Are weekly trips included in the program?
Yes. Campers will participate in weekly trips and special experiences throughout the program. These may include recreational outings, guest speakers, and other engaging activities that support learning, leadership, and fun.
All trips and experiences are included in the camp registration fee, so there are no additional payments required.
Is this camp good for shy kids?
Absolutely. Many children who attend S.W.O.L.E.™ Summer Camp start off feeling shy or unsure, and that is completely okay. Our camp environment is designed to be welcoming, supportive, and encouraging, helping youth feel comfortable at their own pace.
Through team activities, mentorship, and small group experiences, many campers build confidence, friendships, and a stronger sense of self by the end of the week.
My child isn’t athletic. Will they still enjoy the camp?
Yes. While our camp includes sports and physical activities, athletic ability is not required. Our goal is to encourage participation, teamwork, and fun, not competition.
Campers take part in a variety of activities including leadership challenges, group games, discussions, creative exercises, and team building activities, so every child has opportunities to participate and enjoy the experience.
My child has a physical or intellectual disability. Is this camp for them?
One Voice One Team is committed to creating inclusive spaces where youth feel welcomed and supported. If your child has a physical or intellectual disability, we encourage you to contact our team before registering so we can learn more about your child’s needs.
While we will always do our best to accommodate youth where possible, some accommodations may depend on staffing and facility capabilities. Our goal is to work with families to determine the best way to support every child’s experience.
Are staff CPR certified?
Yes. The safety of our campers is a top priority. Our team includes trained staff and volunteers who follow safety protocols and are prepared to support youth in a supervised environment.
Staff members involved in camp programming are trained to help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment for all campers.
Can parents attend the S.W.O.L.E.™ graduation?
Yes. Parents are welcome to attend the end-of-week S.W.O.L.E.™ Graduation celebration.
Graduation is a special moment where campers are recognized for their participation, growth, and commitment to the S.W.O.L.E.™ values throughout the week. It is a great opportunity for families to see what their children have learned and accomplished during camp.
More details about graduation timing will be shared with parents during the camp week.
Summer camp has officially wrapped up! We are sad to see our amazing campers go but our memories will last a life time!
