Experience the Night: One Voice United Gala 2024 Success Update

This year’s One Voice United Gala was an unforgettable evening of inspiration, entertainment, and impact. On October 24, 2024, we gathered at the beautiful Palais Royale in Toronto to celebrate the voices of youth and the power of community. With over 200 attendees, including supporters, educators, and change makers, the night was a true testament to the collective passion for shaping future leaders.

Amplifying Voices: The Gala Highlights

The evening began with a vibrant cocktail reception, setting the tone for a night filled with meaningful moments. As guests mingled, they explored our silent auction and took photos at the booth. Once seated in the stunning ballroom, attendees were welcomed by the dynamic duo of emcees: Jermaine Frazer, our Program Director, and Isaiah Brightly, a remarkable youth leader from our ‘This Is Us’ Program and high school student.

The program kicked off with a video showcasing the heart of One Voice One Team’s mission: empowering youth through transformative programs and opportunities. Attendees then contributed to “The Tree of Truth,” sharing their favourite summer memories and reflecting on how they could help create more such moments for others.

Throughout the night, our guests enjoyed performances that left them in awe, including:

Jade’s Hip Hop Academy, who lit up the stage with their energetic and powerful dance moves.
A soulful performance by singer-songwriter Rae-Ann Downer, whose voice moved the crowd and echoed the spirit of hope.

We also celebrated the leaders of tomorrow, honoring their achievements and sharing impactful stories from our programs. A highlight of the evening was the Winnipeg Q&A session, where Jermaine Frazer reflected on the strides made in serving marginalized and Indigenous youth in Winnipeg. His call to action was clear: with continued support, the impact can grow exponentially.

Our Founder and Executive Director, Orlando Bowen, and his wife, Skye Bowen THE gamechanger Educator delivered an impassioned speech, challenging everyone in the room with a simple yet profound question: “Are you ready?” He reminded us that the choices we make today will shape the leaders of tomorrow. His call to action galvanized attendees to contribute, resulting in significant funds raised to support our mission.
